The length of human genomic DNA is ~2m. The DNA is packaged into nucleus with diameter of ~10 μm. Even though it is highly condensed, the required information coded in the DNA should be accessed. Transcription factors explore the specific regions on DNA and binds there to regulate production of proteins. I performed molecular dynamics simulations of p53 on genomic DNA to elucidate the molecular mechanism by which p53 efficiently explores the specific region.
